Many
of you would be aware that Shri Godiji Parshvanath Deraser will be celebrating
its bicentennial (200th) anniversary on May 1, 2012.
The pratima of Bhagavan Godiji Parshvanath is truly miraculous and the visit to this deraser is always a pleasant experience.
- From the ancient deraser of Hamirpur in Rajasthan, this Pratima was installed in the Fort area of Bombay
- The fort locality caught terrible fire in the year 1859 which made Jain families settle in Pydhuni. Therefore, in the year 1868, a splendid new deraser was built and the pratima of Shri Godiji Parshvanath was installed in this new deraser at Pydhuni
Mode of Celebration of 200th anniversary
- Distribution of invitation card along with sweets to 1,36,000 Jains all across Mumbai
- Organisation of a series of programmes during the 18 day celebrations that kicks off on April 15
- Government has issue a special Rs.5 stamp depicting the deraser
- Excellent decoration in 650 plus derasers all across Mumbai
- Varghoda across Mumbai on April 29
- Swami Vatsalya of aamras (fresh mango juice) for over 800,000 Jains at 125 different centres all across Mumbai. Food would be cooked with full jaina by a large team of 125 chefs + 20,000 cooks
- 29 April - Varghoda across Mumbai
- 01 May - 200th Anniversary DHAJA followed by Swami Vatsalya

of the Tirth
- Constructed in 1812 by Motishah Sheth- From the ancient deraser of Hamirpur in Rajasthan, this Pratima was installed in the Fort area of Bombay
