You all would be aware that Chomasuwould start from July 3 onwards.....
July 2 is Chaumasi Chaudas.
Chomasuis the season when we can - Not only do MAXIMUM “AARADHNAS”,but it is also possible for us to do MAXIMUM “VIRADHNAS”.
So we thought to inform you of few Small Aaradhnas, that you may consider worth doing duringChomasu and also apprise you about few SmallViradhnas which you should definitely stay away from.
Aaradhnas
- Use Boiled water – Also good for health
- Tie Garna at taps in Kitchen and Bathroom and at water outlets
- Go regularly for Pravachans – (If not then at least on Saturday / Sundays)
- Do Pooja / Samayik / Pratikaman (morning and evening) - Daily / if not then on Sundays or during Paryushan / and lastly definitely on Samvatsari day
- Do Swadhyay (reading of Dharmicbooks, Jain story books), Navkarvali, Japs
- Listen to Stutis / Stavans / DharmicSongs
- Do Tap - Aayambil / Ekasana whenever you can - Say on Tithis (Pachan, Aathum & Chaudas)… - Atleast Navkarsi/ Chovihar
Viradhana
- Avoid UNNECESSARY travelling
- Put white paint in your building (For details see our earlier email - PRE-MONSOON – MUST.. MUST..)..
- Avoid Kand mud (which is not be eaten in any case by us l) but definitely during chomasa or at least for until Paryushan
- Avoid taking together cereals like Moong, Tuar, Adad with raw milk, curd, lassi, shrikhand or other milk items(VIDAD) (For details see our earlier email - JAIN FOOD - READY RECKONER - Pages 10-11)
- Avoid leafy vegetables (like methi, coriander leaves, cauliflower etc) / Kobi – Atleast on Tithis (Pachan, Aathum & Chaudas)
- Avoid Dryfruits / Honey / Butter / all kind of Abhakshyas viz. Ice-cream, Chocolates, Biscuits, Cakes, Cold-drinks, etc. / outside food
The above are just very few things that could be thought of, many more things which will just add on to your Punya.
Further, different food items have different kaal (expiry date) after which one cannot eat it. For details see our earlier email - JAIN FOOD -READY RECKONER – Pages 3-9.
So finally, just in case for some reason, it is not possible for you to do Aaradhnas, please please please atleast stay away from all the Viradhanas.
